Websters dictionary defines rambling as: proceeding without a specific goal, purpose or direction; such as wandering about from one place to another or staggering from one subject to another. Rock, however, has several uses: to move back and forth in or as if in a cradle; to rouse to excitement; and my favorite something like a rock in firmness: FOUNDATION, SUPPORT: REFUGE. These two words together perfectly describe our family situation.
Rambling, has two meanings of it's own. First being that it is what our life has been. Even though we may plan, it seems to be a fairly open-ended journey with no set purpose in mind. It also feels like floating haphazardly along with no real direction. Rambling is also a bit of what you are going to get with this blog.
Rock, is perfect in almost every definition of the word, as we look to God to be be our foundation, support and refuge. We are growing in our faith and leaning on Him for all we need, fully dependent on Jesus for his provision. My husband and I are also teaching our children that our nuclear family is where you will find stability. That stability is not found in a house, town, school, or job, as those things are all very fluid and can be dictated by someone else. We are working to show the unity and stability that comes with God and marriage. It works as well that God and the adventure itself rouses a significant level of excitement, both good and not so good, in all the members of our family.
The purpose of this blog is validation and a bit of inspiration. I will be writing about my family's adventures. Living in an RV and traveling full time is sure to produce some fun stories. My business with essential oils and network marketing is a major part of my life right now, so you will get to hear the ups and downs that come this that. Finally, you will hear about how God is speaking to us and working in our lives, because without him, life would be boring. The validation will come in that I know I am not the only person that has my thoughts and feelings or crazy plans. The inspiration will come from God and in watching others' experiences.
So I hope you will join me on the crazy journey as The Rambling Rock rolls through life. Maybe you'll even get to hear perspectives from other members of our family. I look forward to getting to interact with you through comments and email.
